Yes! Neighbor lists top-rated storage facilities, #1 parking operators, and vetted local hosts, with over 600,000 customer reviews. Every Neighbor host is ID-verified and backed by up to $1M in liability coverage. For extra protection, renters can also opt into a Property Protection Plan at checkout. Note: If a renter decides to forgo PPP at checkout, they’ll need to upload proof of an active RV insurance policy. We also encourage renters to use their best judgment when booking and visiting a space. Read reviews, check host ratings, and look for spaces that are gated, security camera-monitored, and located in lower-crime Evanston neighborhoods, such as [insert dynamic content related to lower-crime neighborhoods in X city], where vehicle break-ins are less likely. In Evanston, 49 locations are monitored by security cameras. These features help to provide peace of mind that your RV is safe.

Monthly rates will depend on the size of the space, the amenities offered (i.e., gated entry, pull-through access, security-camera monitoring, overhead roof protection, RV hookups, etc.), as well as its proximity to major RV attractions. RV storage near Evanston ranges from about $75 to $350, with prices averaging around $130. On Neighbor, you never have to worry about expensive long-term contracts or hidden fees. Price increases are rare, but you will be given advanced notice if your host decides to increase their monthly rate.

That will depend on the RV class and model! In Evanston, there are spaces as large as 30' × 45'. For insight into the space size recommended for your specific RV type, consult Neighbor’s Storage Unit Size Guide. For more information on your RV’s exact length measurements, refer to your owner’s manual, the manufacturer’s website, or your RV’s title, registration, or insurance paperwork. Book the perfect space for your RV the first time by doing your research beforehand–and remember, it’s better to have too much space than not enough.

Pro tip: If you’re storing a Class A motorhome or a fifth-wheel camper that’s large enough to house your family of six, you’ll need to filter for spaces ranging from 40 to 45 feet long. We also recommend booking a space with pull-through access for easy entry and exit–no spotter required.

Yes! Neighbor offers flexible, month-to-month contracts, perfect for international travelers, relocating families, and RV show attendees. Visiting somewhere in Evanston where RV access is limited? Switch over to your tow vehicle, and store your RV with Neighbor. No matter your travel plans, the rented space is yours for the entire month. Come and go as needed, knowing that you have a guaranteed RV storage space available at your convenience. Note: Since billing is processed monthly, payments will not be prorated if the renter removes their motorhome before the monthly rental period is up.

Yes! You can absolutely park your RV on a gravel, dirt, or grass lot if you take the necessary precautions. Spaces in unpaved lots are not only more spacious but also more likely to offer pull-through access, ideal for larger Class A and Class C RV models.

When parking your RV in a lot without gravel, it’s recommended that you invest in RV leveling blocks and ground mats.

Storing your RV in an unpaved parking space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice coverage or protection. To filter spaces in by size or exposure, use Neighbor’s filters, then press “Show Spaces.”

It depends on the width, length, and height of your RV! Some teardrop trailers, pop-up campers, and small travel trailers are compact enough to fit in a standard residential or commercial garage.

Be aware that some commercial parking garages impose restrictions on recreational vehicles in general, regardless of their height or size. These commercial hosts will specify in the “vehicle restrictions” section of the listing that they do not allow RVs, campers, or other oversized vehicles if said policies are in effect, so be sure to review the listing description carefully before submitting a reservation request.

On Neighbor, payment is hassle-free! Just create a Neighbor account and connect your preferred payment method (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards are all accepted). Once you select a space and submit a reservation request, a preauthorization hold will be placed on the funds in your account until the reservation is approved. Once approved, your card will be charged immediately. Thereafter, you’ll be charged on the first day of each successive monthly rental period. Most reservations are renewed on the same day each month (E.g., if a reservation started on the fifth day of the month, you’ll be charged on the fifth day of each successive month). Once you’ve removed your items and cancelled online, automatic payments will stop.

When you find the right space, click "Reserve space" to submit your request. You'll be prompted to enter what you're storing, a preferred start date, and your payment information.

Hosts have 24 hours to respond to your request. If you rent an instant-book space, your reservation will automatically be approved. Otherwise, you’ll be notified via email, SMS, and push notifications (if you have the Neighbor app) when a host responds to your pending request.

Best practices depend on the time of year and the city you’re storing your RV! If temperatures dip below freezing, check out these guides: Winterizing your RV and Preparing your RV winter storage. Regardless of the weather, it’s recommended that you remove all perishables, disconnect the battery (or connect it to a trickle charger), invest in an RV cover, and install an RV security system before storing your RV.
